I have received a VAT return reminder, what should I do?

This reminder will probably be generated by Clever Accounts and is an email notification that the VAT period has just ended and you have until the end of the month to provide us with the figures, or calculate your own VAT and submit to HMRC.

If we normally submit the VAT then you should send us details of income and expenditure during the last 3 months and bank statements if relevant.  If you use an electronic accounting system, such as our online portal, please confirm that the figures are up to date and reconcile them to your bank account.

If you calculate the VAT return yourself then you should ensure this is done as soon as possible and passed to us for checking if you would like.

We request that confirmation or records are provided by the 20th day after the quarter-end, to enable us sufficient time to prepare and for you to make the payment.
